Artists for the Climate
Chesapeake Climate Action Network is proud to announce its fourth annual "Artists for the Climate" event on Thursday, April 15th beginning at 7:30pm. Join authors Bill McKibben, Jeff Biggers and Mike Tidwell for an evening of inspiration and action.

Bill McKibben
An American environmentalist and writer, Bill McKibben is the founder of 350.org, an international climate campaign. Bill frequently writes about global warming, alternative energy, and the risks associated with human genetic engineering. His first book, The End of Nature, is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change, and has been printed in more than 20 languages. His newest book, Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet, was just released to rave reviews.
Jeff Biggers
Author of Reckoning at Eagle Creek, The United States of Appalachia and In the Sierra Madre, Jeff Biggers has worked as a writer, educator, and radio correspondent across the United States, Europe, India, and Mexico. His award-winning stories have appeared on National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and Washington Post, The Nation, The Atlantic Monthly, and Salon, among many other outlets. Biggers is also a member of the multimedia theatre performance company, Coal Free Future Project.
Mike Tidwell
Mike Tidwell is founder and director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about the impacts and solutions associated with global warming in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. He is also an author and filmmaker who predicted in vivid detail the Katrina hurricane disaster in his 2003 book Bayou Farewell. His newest book, focusing on Katrina and global warming, is titled The Ravaging Tide: Strange Weather, Future Katrinas, and the Coming Death of America’s Coastal Cities.
